Judoferienlager Mondsee (english version)

An era comes to an end

(de en)

Dear athletes, dear coaches, dear parents, dear sponsors, dear tournament participants, dear children!

In 2018 we were able to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the judo holiday camp, today we sadly have to tell you that after more than two decades this era is coming to an end. We had to make this decision with a heavy heart, the circumstances are manifold. The framework conditions such as location, staff, legal regulations have changed too much.

With a crying but also a laughing eye we want to review the beautiful 20 years with you and express our thanks. Attached you will find a separate album (also available for download) to delve into the memories.

It’s remarkable how this event has grown over the years. From a training camp “only” for PSV-judoka to an international training camp, attended by 300 participants in peak times. Always there, the special flair – attractive, sporty, fun, funny, sunny, laughing, communal, different. In these years, not only sporting connections have been formed, but also (transnational) friendships. The joy of seeing each other again was enormous, both for the children and for the trainer and organization team. The attractions apart from the training were diverse – boat trip, swimming in the Mondsee, visits to the fire brigade, hockey tournament, ball triathlon, climbing, handicrafts with Karo and not to forget the legendary barbecue on the last evening – whoever was there knows them 😉

Training is preparation for competition. Therefore, the “International ASVÖ Judo Tournament Mondsee” was held after the summer camp. Everyone who was able to experience it knows that the change from training camp to tournament was a time challenge for the organizers. All the more impressive were the results of the athletes, the many nations and the tournament itself.

A training camp includes meals, accommodation, supervision and much more. This requires a lot of hands, a lot of sweat, patience, ideas and, above all, heart and soul. We received this support from many club members, coaches, parents and children. Thank you very much for that. You have made every judo camp “unique”.

Thanks to the main organizers Joan Nascu and Ronny Tiefgraber for their heart and soul that they put into every training camp and tournament.

We would like to thank all sponsors for the many years in which they have supported and made the judo camp possible.

A big “thank you” should also be addressed to all coaches who have made a significant contribution to the success of the training camp with their knowledge, their professionalism and their commitment. The alternating participation of coaches from different nations has given the training camp an indescribable “touch” and allowed new ideas and techniques to flow in.

We must not forget our kitchen brigade, which has provided us with excellent care every year. It would go beyond the scope to list all the cooks and helpers, but this much can be said: “There were a lot and they provided good food at the table or a snack!”. Many thanks to you.

And of course thanks to all the athletes and children who have shown us year after year how much fun the holiday camp gives them, and often tears flowed when the week of “fun, adventure, sport” was over.

Thank you all for the beautiful and enriching weeks over the many years.
